The Karachi Educational & Welfare Society for Deaf (KEWSD) is a not-for-profit and non-Governmental Organization (NGO) located in Korangi, Karachi. Founded by a group of concerned citizens in May 1990, it has been functioning effectively and providing quality education to deaf children in Karachi since its inception. The aim of the school is to help these differently-abled children in their day to day life in becoming active members of society. One of their utmost objectives is to enable these children to earn their own living as adults and lead sustainable lives. They strive to assist them communicate with the larger society and make their routine lives simpler to navigate.
Sharing these sentiments of goodwill, Empower foundation has recently undertaken the responsibility to adopt the school and pay for their monthly expenses. This will help the organization to continue its good work without the hindrance of financial shortage and other monetary challenges.
